has anyone seen saiunkoku monogatari? c:
its one of my favourite series in the world, and its sooooo dear to my heart. ;v; last year i read akatsuki no yona and it really moved me, and though it differs to saiunkoku, it also reminds me a little of it. both the heroines are such strong, wonderful girls, and they both have the most amazing people supporting them.
i'm really sad about how the anime ended and also about how the manga ends too... *read spoilers* but it is a truly magical series and i recommend it highly to everyone. ^_^
taken from wikipedia:

Lovers of art.
Lovers of craft,
Lovers of heart.
Love has built nations,
Felled empires,
Held people together

yet also,
the blindest,
most foolish condition
to which we submit.

Will the breeze caress his lover's cheek, kiss her lips, do it like he could not do? A hand reaches out of his summer gown, the violet sleeve slides down to h

"I'm late! I'm late!" The phrase you chanted reminded you of a story you had read to the children at the temple while you were helping Shurei take care of them. The story was about a girl who was thrown into a wondrous yet confusing land, and that was how you felt.
The Hong family had taken you in without asking about your past, your reason to run away, or a form of payment. You were eternally grateful to them. To top it all up, they were even able to get

Herein is the Story of Saiunkoku.
In the distant past, in the era when the demons of the rivers and mountains ran rampant through the country, in the midst of that endless chaos a single youth went out upon a journey.
Driving away the rampant demons, and with the publics peace and welfare hidden in his breast, he continued his endless journey.
Presently, eight sages gathered, deeply touched by those feelings. Ransen (Indigo), Kousen (Crimson), Hekisen (Green), Kousen (Yellow), Hakusen (White), Kokusen (Black), Sasen (Brown), Shisen (Purple) Named of colour, they were eventually called the Eight Many-Coloured S

There was a violent crumpling of parchment accompanied by an irritated groan from the young woman doing the crumpling. One could tell the girl had been at this for a while--there were ink smudges in different places on her hands and a few on her face, even, and the ground around her little desk was littered with balled-up attempts at the letter she had been trying to compose.
This was Shuurei Ko, the young daughter of Shouka Ko, the keeper of the Imperial Library. She'd been brought to the castle almost a year ago to pose as the first and still only member of the Emperor
